Personal Artifact

A personal artifact from my family is a shadow box of my great grandfather’s WWII medals, glengarry, cap badge and a picture of him in his uniform. My great grandfather was in the quartermaster corp. He served in Halifax, Nova Scotia during the war and thankfully he never had to go overseas. he joined the regiment in 1954 and stayed with them until his retirement at age 55. He then stayed as a mess steward until age 72. It is significant because it is a memory and it shows his respect and loyalty to his regiment. The regiment he was in was the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders of Canada (Princess Louise) Regiment. I never met him but the stories I’ve heard from my grandmother and my aunts  makes me believe that he was a wonderful person.
