Was the US justified in the attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

The United States of America was justified in the attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. One main reason the US bombed Japan was because they thought Japan wouldn’t surrender. If the bomb was not dropped, thousands of American lives could have been lost in an invasion.

Another reason why americans were justified is because they wanted to show how much stronger they were, opposed to every other country in the world, in particular the USSR who americans didn’t trust, and even their own allies. Lastly, the bomb cost approximately 200 million, and the americans wanted to use it. It would have been not to use it after such a large financial investment.

This is why I believe the US was justified in their decision to use the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Canada’s Role in Developing The Atomic Bomb

Canada’s role in the development of the atomic bomb extended well beyond supplying raw materials. Canadian scientists played a crucial role in the project from the beginning. They provided a safe working environment from the battlefields for british scientists working on the bomb. They discovered uranium 235 ( the basic element of the atomic bomb.) canada was also apart of the team working in New Mexico in 1945, which assembled the core of the first plutonium bomb. This was how Canada was involved in making the atomic bomb.
