For my letter home from the trench, I wrote in the perspective of a soldier during the battle of the Somme and how I was one of the few soldiers who were fortunate enough to get let off without getting killed. I wrote about how much I missed home and how much I wanted to come back to Canada and what it was like in the trenches. What I saw, heard, smelt, tasted. I wished to hear back from the friend I wrote to, so for my letter to the trenches, I wrote as the friend I originally wrote to in the first letter. I wrote about how proud of the soldiers everyone was and how everyone was doing at home. I wrote about how hard the women were working and wrote a motivating message to keep fighting and bring our soldiers home.
