Canada 150

In my opinion, the most significant event for Canada is the battle of vimy ridge.  This battle took place on April 9th, 1917.  Canadian soldiers were ordered to seize the ridge, The Canadian soldiers had to plan there assault very carefully. Many soldiers underwent lots of training to capture the ridge, They had taken Ariel photographs of the ridge to plan on how they wanted to proceed on the attack. Engineers dug deep tunnels, begginning in the Canadian trenches, all the way underneath of the German trenches. Canadians troops were told to do whatever it takes to take vimy ridge. The way to victory would be to use a welcoming artillery barrage followed by Canadian soldiers shortly behind the barrage. This is why I think vimy ridge was one of Canada’s most important battles.
