In my opinion I think that the stock market crash of 1929 had the most historically significant affect on Canada as a whole. The stock market crash ruined the economy, it ravaged lives, it almost completely destroyed the sanctuary that was Canada. The cause and effect of the stock market crash was that of a bubble gum bubble, the stocks kept getting bigger and bigger until one day it all crashed and the bubble popped. The stock market crash caused hundreds of thousands of families to go into debt and forced them to live in poverty. Through the depression Canadians stayed optimistic and Canada rebuilt, we came back better than ever, we became better, we learned, and we will never let it happen again. I think that the stock market crash had the biggest effect on canada as a whole because it happened at home, it happened here, on our soil, and I think that we did an amazing job at surviving it.
