The United States of America was justified in the decision to use an atomic bomb on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki because The Americans believed Japan would never surrender , if the bomb had not been dropped thousands of more Americans lives could have been lost in an invasion of Japan. The Japanese had also been very cruel towards the prisoners of war , some Americans thought that they deserved to be taught a lesson. The United States of America also wanted to show how much stronger they were than the USSR (Russia) which they did not trust and wanted to limit the USSR expansion and influence .this decision was difficult to make but in my opinion was still justified , it helped end the war much sooner and also saved more lives from being lost if they would have continued the war.
Canada provided a safe working environment far from the battlefields, for British scientists working on the manhattan project. All European uranium refineries were under nazi control. Only one uranium refinery was left for the allies to use it was the Elderado refinery in Port Hope, Ontario. Canadian scientists played a crucial role in the project from the beginning , they discovered uranium 235 , helped create the first train reaction using uranium 235 also discovered how to purify uranium 235. They were a part of the team working in New Mexico in 1945 , which assembled the core of the first plutonium bomb.
I believe that this was a proud moment for Canada because of all the help they provided to help defeat the Japanese , it was also a great technological accomplishment. Developing the bomb itself and actually using it saved a lot more lives than if they would have continued the war against Japan .
