Canadian Identity Collage

My Canadian identity collage includes images that represent my identity as a Canadian, as well as my Irish background. The symbols that stand out the most on my collage are the maple leaf, Fleur de Lis and the clover. These symbols represent my Canadian identity as a whole, as well as my french Canadian background and the Irish side of my family. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow represents the stereotype that all Irish people are leprechauns.  The acadien flag also appears on my collage because my mums side of the family is of acadien descent which is important to my identity as a Canadian. The waterfall represents Niagara Falls as its an amazing landmark that represents Canada. The words ‘Eh’ and ‘Aboot’ are on my collage because we’re stereotyped to say these things as Canadians. Some smaller drawings included on my collage include the moose, which is an animal canadians are known for, maple syrup because maple syrup comes from canada, bagged milk because we have bagged milk instead of jugs in most provinces. I also have “Bonjour!” Written to symbolize that we’re a bilingual country, and beer for both Canada and Ireland as Canadian beer is popular and the Irish are known to be drinkers.
