The first thing I learned from WW1 is that the war was brutal and devastating. I can see this from all of the parents and children of the men at war. Nobody wanted to think that their family would never be the same again but in reality that’s how it was. Millions of people had died and all for what ? Something that could’ve been prevented if there were a few less hotheads in the world. World war 1 was tragic for the family’s at home but I couldn’t imagine how shaken up and traumatized the shoulders could’ve been. You would have to be there to realize how bad it was. Even the solider s signing up thought that it was all gonna be some game or that it just meant some money for them but they realized that this wasn’t the case what so ever. They couldn’t just turn their back on their country while in the line of fire and I think that’s when they really noticed that it wasn’t a game and that they might not be going home. Overall this war changed history and the way we look at humans today.
