What was Vimy Ridge, it was a battle that happened in the north of France between the Canadian and the Germans. This battle only lasted for 3 whole days in my words Canada came in and swept out the Germans like it was nothing. It was a battle that no one thought Canada was going to win it’s because Canada is a country that is still under the British Monarchy and new to battle. Canada went in with barely trained soilders to me it’s like entering a baby into a race and the baby doen;t know how to win. It’s because no one saw Canada as a country that could win a battle. Vimmy Ridge is important to Canadian Identity because it was a battle that started to make Canada known for it’s miltary. This fight is was how people started to take Canada seriously it’s because armies would think oh the British is just going to bail them out and Canada doesn’t know how to fight. I’m not gonna lie before taking this course i could not name a thing about Vimy Ridge but I know way more. This course has shown me really how important Vimy Ridge is to Canada and cement it’s legacy to the eye of the people.
