For my trench letters, the first one I wrote about was to my mom about how difficult living in the trenches were, with poor hygiene, little to no food, and bad weather. I wrote about how much I missed home and how fortunate my brother and I were to be alive today. I also stated how I saw some graphic things out in no mans land, people dropping like flies, and how horrible the smell was. Lastly, I added how much I disliked being at war, and I hoped it ended soon.
For my second letter, I wrote to my kids in the perspective of the mom about how much I missed them, how hard managing the farm was back home, and how hot and dry it’s been the last few days. I stated how I got a chance to vote for the first time, and how I hoped they’d come home soon.
